While I was at the Motor City Con I did an interview with a very interesting fellow. At least I think he is interesting. His name is Scott Sebring and he is a Batman fan. I guess now you see why I interviewed him. But here is the catch……he is a costume guy…..I know what you are thinking (at least some of you)….”Oh, he is one of “those” guys”. Well that would be a mistake, yes he is passinate about Batman but it’s also more than that.
I will be honest I never understood guys/gals who did the whole costume thing, but in talking with a lot of them and watching kids, young and old, eyes light up, it makes me think………I don’t think you will ever see me in a costume anytime soon but I understand a little more now. It is about the kids, the fun, just having a good time and giving something back. Nothing wrong with any of that. Besides I do dress up but only on stage.
For this interview I just asked Scott why he liked Batman, his memories, the first time in costume and why the “66” Batman seems to have such a special place in our hearts…I hope you all enjoy it.
I have to be honest cutting this one was a bit challenging, for a number of reasons, lots and I do mean lots of good stories are on the cutting floor but sometimes you gotta go where the story takes you……maybe someday I will show you all some “snipits” of what did not make it.
